How About Some Pre-Sliced Ketchup? [VIDEO]

There’s a new type of ketchup and it comes in packages of pre-sliced servings, as odd as that sounds.

Yes, I said pre-sliced ketchup. No, I’m not talking about a tomato, either. There’s a new Kickstarter campaign that promises to bring you packaged, pre-sliced, and ready-to-use ketchup. I wonder if Ed Sheeran will approve… No word on mustard yet, but I guess if this one does well, we’ll see that eventually too.

Seriously, it’s like lunch meat or sliced cheese. They’re calling the new line of sliced ketchup “Slice of Sauceā„¢.” It comes in the same sort of package as pre-sliced cheese, and they appear to be using a resealable pack too. This is certainly a strange concept, especially considering the only time we’ve seen solidified condiments like this is when we were in college and left the dishes in the sink for a week or two too long. But it’s the real-deal, you get a blend of sliced ketchup designed to be applied, err, laid onto your sandwich, burger or wrap like it’s a slice of cheese. This is so weird.

The Kickstarter campaign has a lot of info about the new product. Among some of the properties, they say that they’re using ingredients that are non-GMO, gluten-free, and all-natural. The makers tout that because it’s sliced, there’s no mess from a bottle, there’s no separation of the liquids, the bread doesn’t get soaked in sauce, etc. You know what? This really sounds amazing. It won’t drip down my hands or splash off the plate and get on my shirt? I think I’m in. Check out a ton more info on their Kickstarter over here. So weird, but really kind of interesting. It’s like a condiment breakthrough.
