Majority-Female Investment Group to Purchase the Weinstein Company

Former Obama administration member Maria Contreras-Sweet, is finishing negotiations to buy the Weinstein Company and replace it with a majority female-led movie studio.

This is my fav headline this morning. Maybe this week! Word is an investment group, headed by former Obama administration member Maria Contreras-Sweet, is finishing negotiations to buy the Weinstein Company and replace it with a majority female-led movie studio. Yesss! Deadline reports the $500 million deal will include a change of the company’s name, a board of directors made up mostly of women, and a fund to help the alleged victims of the company’s co-founder, Harvey Weinstein. Just when you thought it couldn’t get better. I hope it works out for them!
