Doritos Is Making Chips Specifically For Women Now?
Doritos just announced that they’re apparently releasing a line of chips for women, designed to be quieter and less messy.

Well, it sounds like it’s happening. PepsiCo owns the brand Doritos, and their Chief Executive says that yes, they are getting ready to launch a new Dorito chip for women. The chip is “less messy,” and they “don’t crunch as loudly.”
Here’s a portion of he conversation from Indra Nooyi, PepsiCo chief executive:
When you eat out of a flex bag — one of our single-serve bags — especially as you watch a lot of the young guys eat the chips, they love their Doritos, and they lick their fingers with great glee, and when they reach the bottom of the bag they pour the little broken pieces into their mouth, because they don’t want to lose that taste of the flavor, and the broken chips in the bottom. Women would love to do the same, but they don’t. They don’t like to crunch too loudly in public. And they don’t lick their fingers generously and they don’t like to pour the little broken pieces and the flavor into their mouth.
She says that the new chips will have low-crunch, and will be less messy, as well as come in a different package. The package will be more designed for easy carrying in a purse of bag (as opposed to the inflated metal-foil typical chip bag), and she even hinted that the packaging will come in different colors.
So that’s basically it. Doritos for women, designed to be less crunchy, less messy, and easier to carry in a purse. Obviously this is drawing much criticism:
