This condom challenge thing is getting out of hand. You know, I’m pretty sure when the guy who invented the internet finally hit the “on” switch he didn’t expect that people would be using his amazing new invention to post videos of themselves snorting condoms, but you know, that’s what we’ve come to.

It’s called the condom challenge, and it literally involves snorting a condom. Unwrap it, place it in one of your nostrils, inhale deeply and you’re supposed to pop it out of your mouth. Ok, I don’t know what they’re teaching for sex ed in schools anymore, but that’s definitely one place you’re not supposed to use one of those. Not to mention if you miss your mouth and end up choking on the thing. So why are people doing it? Popularity, likes, and shares. The internet has become this dark hole of gaining recognition from strangers, and it’s becoming so addicting that people are snorting condoms. Just say that out loud, real quick. There, did you hear how absolutely stupid that sounds?

A doctor even warns that, ironic as it sounds, snorting a condom can actually give you an infection. Here’s what he said, verbatim: “anything else that goes up your nose [besides prescribed spray] can damage the sensitive inner lining of your nose, cause an allergic reaction, or result in an infection.” So there. This is just the latest trend to take off recently (though it’s been around for years, it’s becoming popular now due to the ease of sharing videos), following the Tide pods, cinnamon challenges, duct tape challenge, salt & ice, you know what – the list is endless and just full of dumb things that kids do for popularity. Ahem. See more on the condom challenge here. Have you ever caught your kid doing one of these sorts of “challenges?”
