Sacramento Honors Martin Luther King Jr. With ‘March For The Dream’

Everyone’s excited for Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but don’t forget to celebrate the reason for the holiday. Sacramento is hosting the “Capitol March for the Dream” on Monday, Jan. 15, to honor Martin Luther King Jr and the Civil Rights Movement.
The march will be an all-day event, starting at 8 a.m. for the ceremonial Extra Mile. The Extra Mile is forĀ leaders and Oak Park residents and begins at theĀ Oak Park Community Center.
9 a.m. marks the official beginning of the march at Sacramento City College. It’ll continue on towards the Convention Center at 11:15 a. m. on J Street.
The Diversity Expo goes on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will have music, arts & crafts, employers, a robotics demonstration, and much more! The Expo celebrates people of all cultures and different backgrounds. It’ll be held in the Sacramento Convention Center.
Of course, there will be lots of food! Buses will also be around at the end to take marchers back to origin points.
