A woman from New Jersey got a call that the local Public Works Department found her wedding ring that accidentally flushed 9 years ago! The woman and her husband knew somebody who worked at the local Public Works Department and that person kept an eye out for the ring – and 9 years later he found it!

How was the ring located?

MSN.com says that  the couple’s friend from the local Public Works Department “was with a team working on a manhole” near the couple’s home and spotted the lost ring! The couple was traveling for Thanksgiving but their friend posted a note on their door to contact the public works department. She thought that the department needed to do work on their house but instead, she started crying when they told her that they found her lost ring.

How did she clean the ring?

After being lost for nine years, the woman reportedly boiled the ring in lemon juice and peroxide to sterilize it. She was able to put the ring back on int time for her upcoming 38th anniversary!

The woman says finding her lost ring was her “Christmas miracle”.
