Starbucks Opening Store With Employees Fluent In Sign Language
Starbucks is opening its first ever ‘signing store,’ where every employee will be fluent in sign language. The store will be located near the the deaf-friendly Gallaudet University.

Starbucks is opening its first ever “signing store,” where every employee will be fluent in American Sign Language. What a great way to better serve the deaf community!
According to the company’s press release, the store will be in Washington D.C. It’s going to open this October near the deaf-friendly Gallaudet University. As HelloGiggles points out, another great benefit of this store opening is the employment opportunities it’s providing for those who are deaf and hard of hearing.

The Starbucks will also sell unique merchandise to the store created by a deaf artist. Employee aprons are going to be embroidered with ASL and “I sign” pins.
