“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” just had the second-highest opening ever with $220 million. That’s serious business.

But wait. What movie had the highest opening ever? “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” That movie earned $248 million. Clearly the franchise earns some cash. In fact, “The Last Jedi” is the fourth movie ever to finish opening weekend above $200 million. The other ones are “The Force Awakens,” of course, “Jurassic World,” and “The Avengers.” Both Mark Hamill AND Carrie Fisher are in the movie. Despite Carrie’s passing last December, she finished filming her scenes for the movie, but we’re sure the story was altered a little bit.

Mark S. Allen talks to Daisy Ridley about her character, Rey.

Speaking of Carrie Fisher, a report came out that her family saw the movie as well, and it’s said that her scenes were hard for them to watch. We don’t want to give anything away, but sources close to the family say that the scenes in which Carrie was featured were “gut-wrenching,” but added that when they saw an earlier version of the movie with Carrie while she was still alive, the scenes weren’t as bad. We’re not sure if the scene was modified or if it’s just because she’s no longer here, but we’ll let you fill-in-the-blank on that without spoiling which scene or why they were so hard for the family to watch.
