Reese’s Has A Vending Machine That Trades Bad Candy For Reese’s
Reese’s introduced a new candy vending machine for Halloween, that will allow people to trade their unwanted candy for Reese’s peanut butter cups.

Just in time for Halloween, Reese’s has developed a machine that will trade unwanted candy for Reese’s.
According to KSL.com, this new vending machine was first introduced on Sunday, October 28 in New York. The “Reese’s Halloween Candy Converter Machine” made a splash that night for the town’s Halloween parade.
The purpose of the machine is to give people a chance to trade their unwanted candy for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Reese’s developed the machine after their recent survey revealed that 90 percent of Americans have traded or wished to trade candy on Halloween.

Anna Lingeris, a spokeswoman for Reese’s distributor Hershey, explained the process of the candy machine. “As the No. 1 Halloween candy (with over half of candy buyers purchasing Reese’s), Reese’s has come up with a solution — give us your unwanted candy, and we’ll give you what you actually want — Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.”
After the trial period over the weekend, the vending machine will be set up again on Halloween. Running from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., the candy converter will be outside Washington Square Park on 5th avenue and is expected to dole out up to 10,000 peanut butter cups.
When asked if the candy machine would be popping up around the rest of the country, Lingeris seemed open to the idea. “Maybe we will bring the Reese’s Candy Exchange to other cities; stay tuned for Halloween 2019.”
