Sunday night during the Golden Globes, Oprah Winfrey accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement, and delivered a powerful speech that Dan Rather described best:
Oprah Winfrey’s speech embodied the best traditions of American oratory. It rang with moral clarity rooted in a march towards justice. Not blind to the distance we have traveled and the distance yet to go. It inspired – but cautioned progress will take work. This is #WhatUnitesUs

That sparked some serious Tweeting, from people all over saying Oprah should run for President in the next election. Those ideas quickly escalated to some people thinking Oprah really WAS going to run for office, which sparked even more news of our next President being Oprah… You get the point.
Jimmy Kimmel had a bit to say about Oprah running for office though, in his typical comedic ways: “We will have to call her President Winfrey also you realize that. We’d have to use the word Winfrey a lot. I don’t know if we’re prepared for that as a country.”
LOL
He also made a good point about an Oprah Presidency:
What other celebrities were rumored to have been planning a Presidential run? Well, we’ve got Mark Cuban, you know him from Shark Tank, and owner of the Dallas Mavericks. Caitlyn Jenner’s name was in the mix for a while. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s name comes up now and then, and even said that a run for President is “a real possibility.” Kanye West wanted to run, although he was leaning towards 2024. Tim Tebow said that he was “intrigued” by the idea of running, saying “there’s a chance I could make a difference some day at something.” More details on other celebs here.
