Minnie Mouse has earned her place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Katy Perry was there to help.
According to Billboard, the singer, wearing a Minnie-esque polka-dot outfit, was the one to honor the famous Disney mouse with her star.
Perry then gave Minnie a touching speech about the impact she had made on her life growing up. Kicking off the speech by asking who wore their outfit better, Perry then began praising the happiness Minnie has brought to the world. She also spoke about where her own love for the mouse came from, saying:
“I was maybe two or three years old and into my peripheral vision came Minnie and Mickey Mouse-printed diapers. That was my very first memory ever. And of course, it turned into a lifelong devotion.”
Near the end of the speech, Perry made a joke how long it took Minnie to get a star. Perry said:
“So today, a brief 40 years after Mickey got his star, I’m delighted to honor Minnie and her magic with hers.”
