Storm after storm has hit Sacramento, bringing a ton of wind and rain with each one. While the storms brought down trees, power poles and caused flooding, there was a positive thing the storms brought with them – water to help our drought!
SacBee.com says that Richard Preston-LeMay, the Folsom sector superintendent for California State Parks, says that Folsom Lake was sitting at 420 feet this week – which is about 35 feet higher than the water level before the storms! The lake is currently at 55% of capacity!
That’s fantastic news for our drought! And thankfully, we’re getting a little break in the wet weather with more rain expected next weekend in Sacramento.
