The city of Elk Grove has started a new movement among many during this time! Erase Food Waste is a new campaign launching this week to help stop food waste and get families involves in helping the environment. “This year, 30% of the food we are buying in California is ending up in the trash, the city says. Elk Grove’s recycling manager Heather Neff said we should all do better.”

One tip to help food waste is checking what is in your cupboard and finding things that haven’t been used as well as checking expiration dates inorder to donate what you will not use. Elk Grove as given us a call to action; donate to local food banks if you are not going to use the items. Simple right?
