Have you seen the latest Netflix romcom that everyone’s talking about, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before? The director, Susan Johnson, hinted at a possible sequel!

The film is based on the first installment of the best-selling book trilogy by Jenny Han. Ever since the movie dropped on Aug. 17, it’s been a huge hit. Although there hasn’t been an official green light on a sequel, Johnson is already preparing for it.

“The script isn’t written, but I’m anxious to have them say yes so we can get going on it really quickly because you don’t want to rush it,” Johnson told Entertainment Tonight. “But at the same time, you don’t want them [stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo] to be 30 years old playing 17.”

Netflix typically waits about 28 days after the premiere date before approving sequels. The decision is made based on how well the movie does within that time frame. Johnson revealed that the original creative crew already signed contracts that agree to a sequel.

Because the response to the movie has been so positive, it sounds like there’s a very good chance for Netflix to renew!
