Not only was it number one for weeks, but it inspired an entire skit on Saturday Night Live, which she now calls "a dream come true that I didn't even know I had."

Speaking to Apple Music's Zane Lowe Thursday to promote the release of "deja vu," Olivia said of the sketch, "It was so incredible. I am a huge SNL fan. Obviously I think everyone at SNL is so iconic and such an important part of our culture."

In the skit, all the male cast members, and guest host Regé-Jean Page, argue over the meaning of the song in a bar, before linking arms and belting it out together.

"They actually didn't tell us before it aired. But I have a friend who has a friend who works on it, and the friend was like, 'Oh I think I'm going to do something with Driver's License.' And they might cut it, but I think they might,'” Olivia tells Zane. "And so I was like, 'Oh cool, I'll watch.'"

The singer says she was expecting maybe one person to mention the song, but was blown away.

"I was like, 'Oh my God, they literally played the entire song on SNL,'" she says. "And all of the SNL cast members that I've grown up watching were singing my lyrics. And it was so fantastic."

"I think it's just such an honor to be parodied on SNL, and especially in such a complimentary way," she adds. "It was just really incredible. That was a dream come true that I didn't even know I had."

For the past few months, she and her co-star, Adam Driver, have been spotted in various locations around Italy, on set in vintage Gucci attire. But it turns out interest in the movie is so high that Architectural Digest reports it's spawned a number of unauthorized Instagram accounts devoted to documenting every moment of the filming process.

At such accounts as @TheHouseofGucci and @theguccimovie, you can find photos galore of Gaga's fabulous costumes as she portrays Patrizia Reggiana, who arranged the 1995 murder of her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci, played by Driver.

And in a year where nobody can travel freely, the accounts also double as a travelogue of the glamorous locations where the film is being shot, from Rome and Lake Como, to Milan and the Swiss Alps.

"The amount of excitement surrounding the film and its production has been utterly surreal,” says Wyatt Macgregor, who runs @thehouseofgucci. “Just over the past [two weeks], we’ve amassed nearly ten thousand new followers."

Olivia has just released "deja vu," her first new song since her record-setting smash "Drivers License." It's about your ex doing all the things you two used to do as a couple -- like watching reruns of Glee or listening to Billy Joel songs -- with his new girlfriend. It prompts Olivia to ask, "Do you get déjà vu when she's with you?"

“The concept of deja vu has always fascinated me and I thought it would be cool to use it in a song around the complex feelings after a relationship ends,” says Olivia in a statement. "I started writing and recording ‘deja vu’ last fall and had so much fun creating the different melodies and sonic textures that you hear throughout.”

Musically, "deja vu" is much more upbeat than "Drivers License," and Olivia tells Apple Music's Zane Lowe, "It was really important to me and to my team that we didn't just put out another ballad after 'Driver's License.' We wanted to show that I am a very versatile songwriter, and I love all different types of music, and I create all different types of music."

"It was sort of just a natural progression," she adds.

Meanwhile, Olivia has announced that she'll release her as-yet-untitled debut album May 21; you can pre-order it now. "Drivers License," meanwhile has become the first song this year to be RIAA-certified Gold, Platinum and Double-Platinum.

One of the benefits will be the right to attend a private and intimate in-person event with Lewis at some point in 2022.

Clash quotes Lewis in a statement as saying, "I’m absolutely buzzing to be launching these trading cards...This has been something I’ve been really excited about for a while & have been working on the game behind the scenes so it’s great to be able to finally announce this to everyone!"

"Can’t wait to be giving a small preview of what’s coming up to a few of ya early next year!" he adds.

You can sign up with the tech firm Bondly, Lewis' partner in the NFT launch, to get more information.

In other Lewis Capaldi news, he recently postponed his planned 2021 tour dates in order to work on his new album.

"I really want to make sure whatever I put out next is the absolute best it can be, partly for my own sanity, cause I’m going to have to sing these songs every night for the next few years on tour," he wrote.

Lewis explained, "For that reason, it is with an extremely heavy heart that I’ve made the difficult decision to reschedule this year’s shows and put all my effort into making the best album I can for you.”
