ABC’s Live ‘Little Mermaid’ Special Announces Who Will Play Ariel
The new, live-action production of ‘The Little Mermaid’, airing on ABC, has announced that Moana’s Auli’i Cravalho has been confirmed as portraying Ariel.

ABC has announced that the star who will play the part of Ariel, in the upcoming Little Mermaid special, has been found.
According to Entertainment Insider, the star of Disney’s Moana, Auli’i Cravalho, has been confirmed as Ariel for the live production. The Wonderful World of Disney Presents: The Little Mermaid Live! will reportedly feature a mix of live-action, animation and puppetry. In addition to Cravalho, Queen Latifah has signed on as Ursula and Shaggy will reportedly play Sebastian. The live production will reportedly air on November 5, marking the 30th anniversary of the original animated classic.
This live tribute will include intricate sets and costumes, with music from the original animated film and the Tony Award-winning Broadway stage version as well.
