There’s a chance that Warner Bros. may replace Ben Affleck as Batman because of his latest rehab stint.

The post-rehab insurance costs could be too much for the studio to keep the actor. A recovering alcoholic, Affleck checked in to rehab last week for the third time within the past twenty years.

“More than likely the studio will replace him because the insurance costs are going to go through the roof,” a representative for a completion bond company told TheWrap. “He would be bondable, but the deductible would be really high, probably the budget of the film.”

The rep continued to say that there’s a chance insurers may only seek half the movie’s budget as deductible. However, that could still be a huge sum of money, as Affleck’s Justice League appearance cost $300 million.

“Financiers and producers are going to want to see some evidence that his recent round of therapy was effective and that there are going be some steps taken that he will be sober on his next project,” a content financing expert said.

Affleck checked into a rehab facility in Malibu last week after his estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, staged an intervention.
