Seinfeld inspired Soup Shop reopens in New York

The Soup stand that inspired the “Soup Nazi” episode on Seinfeld reopened today in Manhattan, after shop owner Al Yeganeh shut it down 6 years ago. More then 100 people were waiting in line for the noon reopening. Much about the shop is the same, as it was before Seinfeld made it famous- including the strict ordering rules, which are posted in nine different languages. “THE LINE MUST BE KEPT MOVING. Pick the soup you want! Have your money ready! Move to the extreme left after ordering! Don’t expect to see Al Yeganeh dishing up soup behind the counter, he neither owns nor operates the store- he is still the heart of the store though.
