Melissa Etheridge Blindsides Wife Tammy

[lastfm]Melissa Etheridge[/lastfm] went to court on Friday to formally end her partnership with Tammy Lynn Michaels. Etheridge is seeking joint custody of their 3 1/2 year old twins. In a a petition for Dissolution of Domestic Partnership,  Melissa cited Irreconcilable Differences and asked that the court not award financial support to Tammy. The couple split last year after nearly 9 years together.
Tammy Lynn has addressed Melissa’s decision on her blog, saying she was blindsided by the timing of the decision to dissolve the partnership.  She says that they had agreed, handshook and pinkyswore they wouldn’t file until after Melissa’s fall tour. Tammy Lynn also described how Melissa has made her feel financially destitute. “”I know she doesn’t want to give me money. trust. i’m borrowing cash left and right from people to get through this summer, and feed my kids, with a stomach full of ulcers, thank you. no stress here. :-)”
