Katy Perry released her last album not even a year ago, and seems to be working on more music already in addition to her already slammed schedule.

Katy Perry is giving herself quite the busy year, and we find ourselves saying that every time she’s in the news, but she just keep piling things onto her schedule. Her last new album “Witness” came out in June last year, and she’s apparently now already planning her 6th album. It will likely be a 2019 release, but will take some time to work on. Oh, that’s on top of travelling for her “Witness” tour which started in September, took a couple weeks off for some “American Idol” filming, and will continue on foreign soil through August, again, with some dates off here and there for “American Idol” duties. Oh, did we mention she’s a judge on the new “American Idol” which starts on March 11th?

This new album is in the early, early stages, but producer Steve Mac was hinting that he’ll be working with her on the new stuff. He’s the producer who works with people like Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas, and Liam Payne, among others. Steve Barnett, the CEO of the record company to which Katy is signed, sort of wants a quick schedule: “Engagement is so important and I don’t believe you can have big cycles between projects,” basically meaning an artist has to crank out music to stay relevant and popular.

Are you excited for MORE new Katy Perry music? Is it too soon since her last album, or would you like to see more artists making a lot of music quickly? Source.
