MEVO HAMA, GOLAN HEIGHTS - AUGUST 28: An Israeli hangglider launches himself from the cliffs looming over the Sea of Galilee to catch the thermals rising from the water during the Holy Wind festival on August 28, 2008 on the Mevo Hama cliffs on the Golan Heights. The biblical lake is Israel's most important water reservoir, fed by the Jordan River from the north and by the many streams that carry snow melt and rain water from the strategic Golan Heights. Jerusalem may soon find itself surrendering the volcanic plateau to Syria, with Damascus demanding a full Israeli withdrawal from the Golan in return for a comprehensive peace. A first time hang glider didn’t realize that the instructor forgot to strap him in until they got into the air! The video shows the man holding on for dear life. He called it a near death experience.

From Youtube:

“Here’s a dizzying video that likely needs no introduction, but for the sake of a bit of context and background here you go anyway. A YouTuber that goes by the name Gursk3 recently tried hang gliding in Switzerland, and what followed was a horrifying experience that should reaffirm the rationality of your fear of heights (that is, if you’re afraid of heights).”

The man was luckily able to drop from hang glider as it approached land. The video says that the man fractured a wrist and tore a bicep tendon. But as he points out, “it beats the alternative”.  The man also said that he WILL go hang gliding again. Would YOU?
