Uber Requiring All Drivers/Passengers To Wear Masks Starting Monday
As a precaution against COVID-19, Uber is requiring all drivers and passengers to wear proper face coverings while using the rideshare service.

Starting Monday, Uber will be requiring all drivers and passengers to wear face coverings, as a precaution for COVID-19.
According to Good Day Sacramento, Uber is implementing the mandatory requirements for both drivers and passengers. Following the rules, the mask must completely cover the bridge of the nose down to the chin. Additionally, before the driver can even begin to start picking up passengers, Uber will require the driver to submit a selfie of themselves wearing a proper mask. If they are not wearing a mask, the Uber app will not allow them to begin taking passengers. The same rules apply to the riders, who will be asked to confirm they have washed their hands and are wearing a face covering before every trip. Riders are also being asked to sit in the back seat with open windows for ventilation.
Uber has reportedly bought over 23 million masks for drivers and shipped them to their homes. The company also said they’re spending $50 million on disinfectant sprays, wipes, hand sanitizer, gloves and masks.
