West Sac: A local family transformed a field in West Sac into HUGE 9/11 tribute. One flag is placed at the memorial for every person who died in the attacks. This year, the flags of 60 countries were added to represent the nationalities of those killed and other attacks, including the Pulse nightclub shooting and the Boston Marathon bombing according to KCRA. This Memorial will be up until Sept. 12th on the field at corner of Jefferson Boulevard and Locks Dr.

Cal Expo: The largest 9/11 memorial in the western states will be happening today on the fairgrounds at the memorial plaza. This special memorial will have a floating ball of granite with the names of more than 3,000 people who died that day. Plus, 125,000 pounds of steel from the World Trade Center. This memorial is FREE and families can tour the memorial site until 6 p.m.
