Visit a participating store between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 14, ask for your favorite flavor in a cup, sugar cone, or wafer cone and you’re walking out with FREE ice cream and a smile on your face! Also, if you post a photo of you and your free ice cream using the hashtag #HDFreeConeDay, you could be featured on Häagen-Dazs’ official Instagram page.

Free Cone Day began as a way to spread awareness about honey bees. The company said bees are a critical part of producing ingredients used in more than a third of its ice cream flavors, and suggested people use their free scoops to try “bee-dependent” flavors such as Vanilla Swiss Almond, Strawberry, and Rocky Road according to Thrillist.
