Up to 40 percent of the firms making Mexico's tequila may halt production because of a chronic shortage of their main raw ingredient, the cactus-like agave plant. Cheers! We LOVE this study that says that tequila helps with weight loss! See why…

Elle.com reports that a study from the American Chemical Society found that agavins (the sugars in tequila that are non-digestible) won’t raise your blood sugar and mice in the study who ingested the agavins “ended up eating less overall and had lower blood sugar levels than the others who hadn’t consumed agavins.”

Even better news is that the mice who consumed the agavins produced a hormone called GLP-1 that produces insulin and keeps your stomach full longer!

Researchers NOW believe that agavins could have health benefits for type-2 diabetics or people struggling with weight-loss!
