A new study found that regularly going to live shows can help you live longer!

O2 and Goldsmith’s University Associate Lecturer Patrick Fagan published the report. The study shows that just 20 minutes at a live show can increase feelings of well-being by 21 percent. The research additionally found a link between “high levels of well-being [and] a lifespan increase of nine years.”

Bespoke psychometric testing and heart-rate tests were given to participants of the study after going to a gig. They showed a 25 percent increase in feelings of self-worth and closeness to others, and 75 percent increase in mental stimulation.

Research found that those who attend shows at least once every two weeks saw the most benefit, reports NME. Patrick Fagan also said:

“Our research showcases the profound impact gigs have on feelings of health, happiness and wellbeing. With fortnightly or regular attendance being the key. Combining all of our findings with O2’s research, we arrive at a prescription of a gig a fortnight which could pave the way for almost a decade more years of life.”

So there you have it, folks: go see live shows once every two weeks!
