Netflix has already started off the new year with a bang, by announcing the release date for season 3 of Stranger Things.

According to Popsugar, the supernatural series released a teaser video, themed around New Years Eve. During the trailer, the date of July 4, 2019 was revealed to be the release date for the highly anticipated season.

This new teaser featured a fun, throwback-look at Dick Clark’s 1984 New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special. Although no new footage of the upcoming season was revealed, the trailer reportedly featured a hidden coded message for fans to decipher. The message said, “When blue and yellow meet in the west,” but no other clues were given in the video.

Many fans speculated that the new season might premiere during the summer, after the previous teaser released in July 2018 and seemed to focus on summer jobs in the show’s new Starcourt Mall. The newly dropped promotional poster also features the Hawkins kids dressed in summer clothes, and overlooking what seems to be a Fourth of July fireworks show.
