We made it through another work/school week! Time to take advantage of another gorgeous weekend and hit the town with your family and friends! There are so many cool, family-friendly, free events going on this weekend around our city! Plan your weekend with these events I curated worth checking out and knowing about! Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink
When/Time: Now – January 21, 2019/ Weekly hours here
Where: 7th & K Streets
Kick off your holiday season with a trip to the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink now open through January 2019! This weekend is their opening weekend with a $2 skate special today 12 pm – 11 pm. Tomorrow is Princess & Superhero Day, where you can dress up as your fave princess or superhero! Check out their event calendar HERE!
Día de los Muertos Oak Park Celebration
When/Time: Friday, 5 PM – 9:30 PM
Where: The Brickhouse Gallery 2837 36th St. in Oak Park
Community celebration that includes tributes or altars for deceased loved ones in a reproduced cemetery scene, live traditional Mexican music on two stages, dance performances, food vendors, artists, free kids’ crafts, and more! This is a free event. More info HERE!
Light The Night Walk
When/Time: Saturday, Nov. 3rd/ 5pm – 8:30pm
Where: Raley Field 400 Ballpark Dr in West Sac
Saturday night, we are taking steps to end cancer at Light The Night, it’s a series of fundraising campaigns benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) funding of research to find blood cancer cures. We’re helping bring communities together to celebrate those who are fighting the disease and to honor those we have lost. Come show your support, walk, and stop by the NOW tent for games & prizes! Día de los Muertos Souls of the City Festival
When/Time: Saturday 4pm-9pm
Where: Sacramento History Museum
The entire community is invited to come watch as the mesmerizing Sacramento Aztec Dancers Maquilli Tonatiuh lead the official Day of the Dead ceremony at the annual Souls of the City festival in Old Sacramento with arts and crafts vendors, traditional face painting, sugar skull making, community altars, and live music performances for the whole family HERE!
Bike Ghost Hunt Tour
Where: Downtown Sacramento, 1100 12th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814
When/Time: Now – Nov. 3rd/ 8:00pm
Join Sacramento Bike Tours on the hunt for the departed as it explores the many historical sites that have been rumored to have witnessed the ghostly experiences. These tours will be held on comfortable electric powered beach cruiser bicycles. Get more info & purchase tickets HERE!
