Sacramento Republic Is Expected To Be Named The 29th MLS Team

Sac Republic released a statement; “We share the great excitement and anticipation in our community about Sacramento’s bid to join Major League Soccer. We will continue to respect the MLS expansion process and remain confident about the future of our club and our city. We look forward to sharing more information in the days ahead.” This announcement is expected to be the first of many accomplishments for Sac Republic as City Council discusses a new stadium deal for the expansion team. 

The formal announcement will be presented on Monday morning, according to Sacramento Republic FC ownership and Mayor Darrell Steinberg. A public event will follow around 4 p.m. on Capital Mall between 4th and 6th streets and SacTown couldn’t be more excited to participate and show their pride for Sacramento.
