If you’ve listened to the Black Panther soundtrack, then you’ve heard Mozzy, an Oak Park native!
The soundtrack has already gained heavy traction for the incredible features. Kendrick Lamar co-produced the album, which is an amazing feat in itself. Kendrick’s support of Mozzy has definitely helped propel his reach beyond Sacramento. Mozzy is on the track titled “Seasons” with Sjava and Reason.
According to the Sacramento Bee, Kendrick even shouted out Mozzy during his Grammys acceptance speech. He said:
“Like my guy Mozzy say, God up top, all the time. Real talk, you know.”
Mozzy posted a clip of the shout out on his Instagram. See it below.
Lots of Sacramentans likely already know this next fun fact, too. But in case you don’t: Black Panther’s director, Ryan Coogler, is also a Sacramento State alumnus.
