Can you believe last year in California, over 500 people who died in crashes weren’t wearing seat – that’s a pretty big number. With summer just around the corner, our Sac P.D plan on kicking it off by cracking down on drivers who don’t buckle up with the “Click It or Ticket” campaign.

The “Click It or Ticket” campaign is a nationwide effort to get everyone to wear seat belts. This campaign starts now to June 2 according to KCRA. In California, the fine for not buckling up is $162, and it’s triple that for not properly securing a child in a safety seat. That ticket is $490. Officers are also reminding parents that children under the age of 8 must be in a car seat or booster seat.
