Roseanne was one of the most successful reboots to come back in 2018. However, that success was not enough to save it after Roseanne Barr’s recent racist tweet…
According to TMZ, ABC cancelled the show after Barr posted an offensive tweet about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett. While the comedian is no stranger to controversy, her recent “joke” took things way too far. She said:
“She was the product of Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes.”
In response, ABC released a statement, saying:
“Roseanne’s twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”
Rosanne Barr has since taken the tweet down and apologized, but it’s clearly too late. It also appears that ABC jumped the gun on renewing the show for a second season.

Before the announcement of the cancellation, show producer Wanda Sykes confirmed she was quitting the show in response to the remark.
