James Devaney/GC ImagesRihanna‘s fans were worried Friday when the singer was photographed with a seriously bruised face.  However, her team has come forward to assuage their concerns by revealing that Rihanna’s injuries were the result of an accident involving an electric scooter.

Speaking to People on Saturday, the 9-time Grammy Award winner’s team issued a statement about what happened.

“Rihanna is completely fine now but flipped over on an electric scooter last week,” her team disclosed, adding that she “bruised her forehead and face.”

Despite a dented ego, Rihanna is “healing quickly” and suffered “no major injuries,” her rep continued.

Fans initially took to social media to express concern for the 32-year-old singer after paparazzi photographed her bruised and scraped face as she sat in her car.  The photographs, which were obtained by TMZ, also show that she has a black eye.

Rihanna isn’t the first celebrity to bang themselves up after riding an electric scooter.  Last month, America’s Got Talent creator Simon Cowell broke his back after taking his newly purchased e-bike for a spin.

“Some good advice…” Cowell shared on his Twitter and Instagram accounts following the incident. “If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.”
