The ban goes into effect after 5pm, and bans children under 14 years of age. The owner of the restaurant, Rudolf Markl, says that he’s seen more business, and happier diners.

We’ve all been to restaurants and have had to endure rambunctious children. The parents of those children never seem to care, and let their child run around. That’s why Rudolf decided to put the ban into place. He’s said that he’s seen kids running around his restaurant during dinner, bothering other customers. He’s even seen them breaking decor around the place, and ruining tablecloths due to spills. He decided the ban was needed, and he’s already seeing positive response. “We have been thinking about this for a very long time… We have somehow reached that point where you say: This just can’t go on like this,” he says.

Rudolf is hoping that his restaurant will become an “oasis of peace” after this ban. He also added that it was less about banning children, and more about banning the parents who let their children run around. Although, this does hurt other families who want to go who have well-behaved children. I know when I was growing up, acting out was zero-tolerance in my family. My sister and I would sit quietly, eat, say please and thank-you, and that was that. And honestly, I’m seeing more and more kids with their heads buried in their tablets and phones. They’re not really acting out, except for when they want to play instead of eat.

How do you feel about restaurants banning children? Do you have kids of your own who are well-behaved? Would you go out of your way to enjoy a child-free dining experience? See some more info on the ban here.
