Leaders and artists in the music industry have decided to put a pause on all business today (June 2nd), for Blackout Tuesday, to show their support.

After a weekend of the country protesting the murder of George Floyd, so many artists like the Rolling Stones, Quincy Jones, and Billie Eilish have taken part in #theshowmustbepaused initiative, according to CNN.

Quincy Jones took to Instagram to explain the movement, saying people should “disconnect from work and reconnect with our community,” for the day.

To show participation, people are posting a black square on Instagram today with the caption #BlackOutTuesday.
