The Oscars were last night, and if you noticed an absence of people in your Facebook and Instagram feeds sending out comments as everything happened, well, we did too. So here’s the recap to get you caught up on who won what, and what didn’t win at all. Spoiler alert – “Lady Bird” didn’t take home any awards last night. At all. Sadface. “Dunkirk” and “The Shape of Water” were the big winners from the night, and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” did pretty well too. Here are the big ones:
-Best Picture:
“The Shape of Water”
-Best Director:
Guillermo del Toro for “The Shape of Water”
-Best Actress in a Leading Role:
Frances McDormand in “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”
-Best Actor in a Leading Role:
Gary Oldman in “Darkest Hour”
-Best Actor in a Supporting Role:
Sam Rockwell in “Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri”
-Best Actress in a Supporting Role:
Allison Janney for “I, Tonya”
-Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay):
James Ivory for “Call Me by Your Name”
-Best Writing (Original Screenplay):
Jordan Peele for “Get Out”
Jimmy Kimmel was the host once again, and he kept things very current and a bit on the political side, and he also gave a shout out to the, I don’t want to say “trend,” but the fact that female characters and women who are producers and directors in Hollywood have been making some strides and have been getting a serious amount of attention for their power and excellence:

Speaking of fashion, this is awesome, Rita Moreno went to the show last night in the same dress that she wore back in 1962 when she attended for “West Side Story.”

In another move of awesomeness, Frances McDormand asked for all of the female nominees to stand up and be recognized:
