Did you know that NSYNC never received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? You didn’t? I never really thought about it, but I guess I didn’t know either. That’s changing though, later next month.

April 30th is the date – that’s when the band will get together and accept their star on the sidewalk. Their star will be placed next to all the other boy bands who have already received their stars – Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, New Kids on the Block, New Edition… Well it’s about time then! Though the band never officially broke up, they went on hiatus back in the early 2000s, and, according to Wikipedia, Lance said that yes, they had in fact broken up back in 2007. That doesn’t mean they can’t receive the star though, so that’s good news.

With their pretty incredible record of hitmaking, selling 30 million+ albums just in the US, another 12 million in other parts of the world, and 8 Grammy awards, I’m a little surprised they haven’t received a star yet. I bet that reunion for the ceremony might be a little awkward, but we’ll see how it goes when it happens. Lance said this back in February:

Everyone knows that the tongue emoji makes bitter sarcasm all better, doesn’t it? Ok, maybe all the NSYNC members friendly together after all these years and everything will be fine, but you just never know any more in the music industry about who truly is feuding, or what’s being planned behind closed doors. Congratulations to the [former] band for the recognition, even if it took a solid 16 years after their split, err, “hiatus.” Check out a little more info here, including the exact location.
