Yes, that’s a “today” headline for a movie that was released in 1985, but it’s true, a new, never-released deleted-scene was just unlocked from the film-vault for the movie’s new Blu-Ray “Criterion Collection” edition.

The scene is just one portion of about 50 minutes worth of new footage, and it involved Molly Ringwald’s “Claire,” and Ally Sheedy’s “Allison.” It shows the two of them in the bathroom, and Claire takes a moment to try and learn something about Allison, who just continues to demonstrate her typical quirky nature, including eating a potato chip not only near a “live toilet,” but also out of the sink after it fell in. It’s a little bit of a funny scene, but if you ask us, it does sort of depart a little too much too early from the Claire character that we know from the theatrical version of the film, so we can understand why it was cut from the film. It’s still pretty interesting to see though, and makes you wonder just how much of a movie is cut before the final version is released. Check out the clip below.
