Neither Snow Nor Rain, Just No Nudist Mail Delivery

You know the motto for the USPS, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” However if you ask one mail carrier in Florida, you’ll find out that the motto doesn’t say anything about nudist resort mail.

Residents of the resort in Florida are saying that their usual mail carrier has no problem delivering packages and envelopes inside the gates of the resort. But when their typical carrier is out on vacation or has a day off, the substitute carrier refuses to enter the resort. If it’s something that can be delivered outside the gate, it usually arrives, but if there’s a package of some kind, it ends up getting marked as “undeliverable.” Residents say that some of the people who live there get their medication via mail, and if it’s not being delivered, it can be a big problem. It’s not even being left at the front office for residents to pick up later.

Complaints to the post office don’t accomplish anything either. They say that if nudity offends the delivery driver, she isn’t required to enter the resort. A statement from a spokesperson for the USPS says “In accordance with postal regulations, all mail is left in the appropriate boxes… Packages are left in the large parcel lockers, which, like the mailboxes, are located just outside the entrance to the community. Notices are left for mail requiring signature and items that do not fit in the lockers… Carriers are not required to deliver beyond the centralized delivery units… We can assure all customers that mail and packages are being delivered according to national centralized delivery requirements. The Postal Service appreciates its customers and strives to provide the best possible service at all times.” See more here.
