How can anyone forget the notorious MTV program, Spring Break? Well, prepare for the new iteration because it’s coming back.

Viacom signed off on the revival series in order to provide a bigger push into live events. MTV also acquired SnowGlobe Music Festival in Lake Tahoe for the same reason.

Spring Break is set to run from Mar. 19-21 starting next year right back at the Grand Oasis Hotel in Cancun, Mexico. The event will feature a “signature mix of high-energy performances, surprise celebrity guests, and thousands of young people from around the U.S.,” MTV told The Wrap.

Seeing as to how much growth there has been in music festivals over the years, this idea does have potential. However, many are justifiably concerned about the show’s revival in the Me Too era. In response, MTV is reportedly interested in including some activism within the program.

Who knows? It could end up being quite an inclusive and positive platform. We sure hope so.
