Mindy Kaling’s new film is in early talks to be bought by Amazon Studios for a historic amount.

HelloGiggles reports that Kaling’s movie, Late Night, is in talks with Amazon Studios to have its obtained for $13 million. The film recently premiered at Sundance, where it caught the attention of the corporate giant.

Although films that have premiered at the film festival have sold for more in the past, this deal marks the highest amount offered for a domestic-only deal. The comedy film stars Mindy Kaling, who also write and produced the movie. She also teamed up with director Nisha Ganatra, who had previously worked with Kaling on The Mindy Project.

Late Night focuses on Kaling’s character, an Indian-American comedy writer. She is hired by a veteran late-night talk show host, played by Emma Thompson, to help jump-start her stale writer’s room.

Kaling voiced her excitement and gratitude on social media, saying: “It’s taken years and years of working alone on it, uncertain it would ever be seen. So, yeah, my heart is about to explode. Thank you.”
