Mariah Carey Stops New Year Eve Show For Tea [PIC and VIDEO]
Mariah Carey performed again for New Year’s Eve, nailing the performance, redeeming herself from last year, and did it all without her hot tea.

Mariah Carey performed for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve last year, 2016 into 2017, and we all remember how that turned out. It was horrible, to be totally honest. She couldn’t hear the music in her earpiece, her singing was off-key and off-time, and she wound up stopping and just walking off stage. Well, this year was drastically different. It was worlds better. She was basically perfect, although there was one minor thing – she wanted some tea.
Her performance lasted about 10 minutes, and it’s reported that she was paid about $3.5 million for her time as well.
It’s one of the biggest talked-about things online yesterday and today – Mariah Carey’s tea. She stopped down between a couple songs, saying she was going to have a sip of some hot tea. The problem was that there was no tea. She asked a couple times, and then called it a disaster, saying she’d have to “rough it” and be like everyone else with “no hot tea.” Truthfully, we don’t know if someone dropped the ball and was supposed to supply her with some hot tea, or if she was just being funny and made up that part about it being “a disaster” as a joke kind of pointing towards the “disaster” that was last year’s performance, but she posted a picture of herself after performing, tea cup in-hand.
Here’s video of her asking for the tea. Again, we’re not sure if this was a set-up or if someone really did fail to deliver, but either way it seemed a little dramatic:
