Grandparents – you have to hand it to them. They’re usually very nice about everything. They also usually will do anything they can for their grandchildren, including recording their marriage proposal. This one didn’t quite go to plan though.

The thought was there, at least? Grandpa John was with his grandson, Chris, and Chris’s girlfriend. They were all riding a lift. That lift was going to the top of a mountain, and grandpa John made a joke about how it would be the perfect spot to propose. A joke, you say? That was the plan all along! When they got to the top of the mountain, got off the lift, Chris handed his camera to John. John realized what was happening, and after serving as a photographer in the Navy, he was confident he could capture the moment.

Well, technology has changed a lot since grandpa was in the Navy. Cameras are weird looking boxes now, sometimes making it difficult to know what side is the business end. Well, Grandpa John just recorded himself watching the proposal on top of a beautiful mountain instead of the actual proposal. Oops. John says his grandson doesn’t mind though, seeing grandpa’s reaction the whole time is worth it. And can I just say that yes, it’s totally worth it. Here’s the video:
