Lorde issued a statement explaining her decision to cancel her June 5 show in Tel Aviv.
She received messages from protesters of the Tel Aviv government’s policies towards Palestine and has cancelled her show in support of the boycott, reports Nylon.

Amy Spiro, who works for the Jerusalem Post, released Lorde’s statement on Twitter.

In a show of class, the 21-year-old wrote in her statement:
“tel aviv, it’s been a dream of mine to visit this beautiful part of the world for many years, and i’m truly sorry to reverse my commitment to come play for you. i hope one day we can all dance.”
