Last.fm Trends: Happy Birthday To Madonna

Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone, better known by millions of fans around the world by her first name, celebrates her birthday today.

It’s always the perfect occasion to have a look back at the career of an artist, and Last.fm Trends is happy to do just that. They took a look at how many listeners have been digging through the pop Queen’s catalog and bring you her top five records among Last.fm listeners

Of Madonna’s older material it’s Like A Virgin that does the best. Boasting more than a few stone-cold classics, the record acted like a rocket-fuel for Madonna’s career, and remains a listener favorite.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is just how well her more recent material has done. Though Ray Of Light still stands up after more than a decade, it’s 2005’s Confessions On A Dancefloor, with a few crossover smashes lighting up pop charts and dancefloors alike, that roars atop the charts, with 590,688 listeners scrobbling the record a total of 7,765,602 times.
