Last.fm Trends: Green Day Tops Lollapalooza Charts

The wait is almost over. Tomorrow (Friday 6th August) Lollapalooza will kick off, bringing three days of raucous rock right into the heart of Chicago. With headliners Lady Gaga, Green Day and Soundgarden set to take to the stage, it promises to be one of the loudest weekends of the year.

Last.fm Trends took a look at which acts could be the most popular of this year’s line-up, and bring three tips for you to check out lower on the bill…

Green Day leap ahead in the top ten with 2,149,020 Last.fm listeners scrobbling their music, while The Strokes and Lady Gaga vie for second place. MGMT and The Arcade Fire round out the top five, leaving headliners Soundgarden just outside in the number six spot.

In the meantime, for those hoping to catch bands lower down the bill, here are Last.fm Trends hot tips for the weekend:

Friday – The New Pornographers (pictured)
16,877,651 plays (462,197 listeners)

Saturday – Dragonette
