Lady Gaga’s new movie kicks off cottage industry in unauthorized Instagram accounts
By now, you’ve probably seen a few paparazzi shots of Lady Gaga filming her new movie House of Gucci. For the past few months, she and her co-star, Adam Driver, have been spotted in various locations around Italy, on set in vintage Gucci attire. But it turns out interest in the movie is so high that Architectural Digest reports it’s spawned a number of unauthorized Instagram accounts devoted to documenting every moment of the filming process.
At such accounts as @TheHouseofGucci and @theguccimovie, you can find photos galore of Gaga’s fabulous costumes as she portrays Patrizia Reggiana, who arranged the 1995 murder of her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci, played by Driver.
And in a year where nobody can travel freely, the accounts also double as a travelogue of the glamorous locations where the film is being shot, from Rome and Lake Como, to Milan and the Swiss Alps.
“The amount of excitement surrounding the film and its production has been utterly surreal,” says Wyatt Macgregor, who runs @thehouseofgucci. “Just over the past [two weeks], we’ve amassed nearly ten thousand new followers.”
