The marriage between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has been going strong since 2014. However, the rapper recently revealed that his controversial comment about slavery almost lead to divorce…
According to Radar Online, the rapper explained in a New York Times interview how things nearly ended. He said:
“I called different family members and was asking, you know, ‘Was Kim thinking about leaving me after TMZ?’ So that was a real conversation.”

For those who don’t remember, West said during a TMZ Live interview that he thought slavery was a choice. The insensitive comment garnered intense backlash, especially in the black community.
West also tried to clarify his remark during this new interview, saying people misunderstood his words. He explained:
“I never said slavery itself — like being shackled in chains — was a choice. That’s why I went from slave to 400 years to mental prison to this and that. If you look at the clip you see the way my mind works.”
Regardless, it looks like their marriage has rebounded, and we wish Kanye West and Kim Kardashian the best.
