Globalnews.ca says that when a fisherman hooked a sevengill shark off the coast of Bodega Bay, he tried to release it back into the water. The shark spun around and bit him on the leg in the process! The man said:

“As I’m trying to get the hook out it turns, it pivots, and grabs onto the inside of my left ankle”

When Darby the pit bull heard his dad screaming, he jumped out of the car and came down to the beach to help him. That’s when Darby grabbed the shark by the tail and dragged it out of the water.

Darby’s owner is mostly healed from his injuries and said this about his courageous Darby:

“If it wasn’t for him, it could’ve gotten a lot worse.”
