HELP VICTIMS OF SUPERSTORM SANDY

When disasters like Superstorm Sandy devastate communities, your support helps ensure the American Red Cross is there to provide warm meals, shelter and hope to families when they need it most.  NOW 100.5 and the rest of the CBS Radio Sacramento family have partnered with the American Red Cross to raise money for the disaster relief fund to help in the aftermath of the hurricane.

As another strong storm approaches the northeastern United States, we here at CBS SACRAMENTO are utilizing all local CBS television and radio stations to raise money for the Red Cross to help people who are still hurting in the area. FRIDAY from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m., we will open a phone bank to get Northern Californians involved in the relief effort.

Your donation provides critical support to those in need.

Disasters such as Sandy affect the number of people able to donate blood, but hospitals still need blood to meet the needs of accident victims, cancer patients and children with blood disorders.

The American Red Cross urges those who are able to schedule an appointment to donate blood or platelets by visiting Redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
